My Goal

I launched The Savvy Collector website in November 2024 with the goal to create a hub for collectors like myself. I want to offer affordable tools and accessories that allow collectors to enhance their collections, but more than that, I want to share the insights I’ve gained. From understanding the value of cards to maximizing the joy of collecting, my goal is to help fellow hobbyists grow their collections responsibly. Whether it’s offering advice on avoiding the pitfalls of bad breaks or providing tools to protect and display your prized cards, I hope The Savvy Collector will serve as a resource to help collectors of all levels succeed in this constantly evolving hobby.

About Me

In April 2023, my journey into the world of card collecting began when I joined my very first break on TikTok. The excitement of seeing packs opened live and the possibility of landing a valuable card hooked me right away. These breaks quickly became more than just entertainment—they helped me understand the value of cards and connect with the card-collecting community. However, it took me a while (and quite a bit of money) to fully grasp what real value in cards looked like. I experienced both the highs and lows of the hobby. I participated in some breaks where the thrill was manipulated by overhyped commentary, making even the most common cards seem like a jackpot. But I also found some great breakers—those who explained the intricacies of card collecting, taught their audience the importance of value, and helped minimize losses. Through these experiences, I became more connected with the community and started to see the gaps in the hobby, especially when it came to tools and accessories for collectors.

As I spent more time in breaks, I realized I wanted to focus on improving my 3D printing skills and build something for the card-collecting world. The idea for GradeSavvy came to me when I was frustrated with how difficult it was to perfectly center a card using existing tools. I began by designing a holder that would keep the card and centering tool in place. Soon after, I created a fully integrated GradeSavvy centering tool that didn’t just hold the card but also measured centering with precision.

Around that time, I discovered TAG grading—a company whose transparency in card grading was unmatched. Their detailed centering reports helped me refine the GradeSavvy tool to align with professional grading standards. I immersed myself in the TAG Discord community, where I received invaluable feedback from other collectors. They tested my designs, provided input, and helped shape the GradeSavvy into a tool I could trust.

Since then, I’ve expanded my product line. I now offer StorageSavvy boxes for collectors who need durable, sleek storage solutions, as well as SavvyStands, designed for displaying slabbed cards in style. I continue to look for new ways to innovate and improve card-related products, always with the collector’s needs in mind.
